22R Downdraft Intake Manifold (4-Barrel Holley Flange / Dual Plane)
The LCE 22R dual-plane downdraft intake manifold has a split plenum that will provide you plenty of power and torque gains through the entire RPM range. A good choice for carbureted street/strip applications is the dual-plane. As a basic rule, engines of smaller displacement (or engines that rev low) draw on the intake system less than larger engines, so smaller ports are required to maintain velocity and efficiency. At lower RPMs, most engines don't have a strong signal, so a dual-plane manifold will divide the banks so that each pulse draws from one side of the carburetor. With this arrangement, airflow is increased and helps fill the cylinders during midrange operation and during part-throttle. The result is good throttle response and midrange power. Intake manifold comes with intake gaskets, thermostat gasket, and one of our exclusive water plate kits for the bottom of the intake.
NOTE: Offenhauser intake manifolds require the use of an 81-83 thermostat housing. We have these available for an additional $50 at time of .
